Hallo,When using Wash AK 070, I wanted to tin the wash for a better flowing result. At first I did use white spirit this did work just for the day, next day the pigments and thinners are separated and the pigments are clumped on the bottom of the can, so not usable any more. After that I did use several products to thin the wash ( MIG thinner for washes, Standard turpentine and Alcohol) but all with the same result. This weekend I was at the Model exhibition of the KMK at MOL Belgium and did talk with one of the vendors selling AK paints about my problem. He did advise me to use the AK Odorless Thinner for enamel products (AK 049) with no better result… When I brought the Wash and the thinner together in a jar they directly separated pigments on the bottom and the thinners above, and stirring did not help at all, so a useless operation.By now I spend more or less a half jar of the wash by experimenting. Is there a forum member that can help and tell me what is going wrong and how I can tin down AK Washes.
Gruss
Bert

Based on your description, I can only imagine that the wash is simply too old and gone broken. This already happened to me with a finished filter color Through a chemical reaction (?), Pigments and liquid separated - and no longer come together.
Result: Throw the half-full bottle away. If you have different oil colors in the house, mix your desired shade of gray together, thin it with Thinner for washes and then you can edit your model with it
Last week I did a panel wash with AK 075 - and that was perfect.
